The Winnsboro High School VEX Robotics team has been crowned the UIL 1A–3A VEX Robotics Texas State Champions after an outstanding performance this weekend in Houston.
The team traveled to Houston to compete against 20 top robotics teams from across the state in the UIL 1A–3A VEX Robotics State Championship. The competition featured a full day of fast-paced action, including seeding matches followed by a single-elimination tournament. Throughout the day, teams were challenged not only in robot engineering, design, and programming, but also in strategy and collaboration as they worked alongside different random alliance partners.
Winnsboro’s Team 16756A, B.R.I.C.C.C., competed in a total of 13 rounds on Saturday. After nine seeding matches paired with various opponents, the team earned the number one overall seed heading into the tournament. Partnering with Team 77360Z, the Eagercats from Onalaska, the alliance went undefeated in tournament play to claim the UIL Texas State Championship.
Team members include: Peyson Clapp, Beau Duffield, Luke Rogers, Hunter Brian, Lilly Rulison, Landon Coleman, Traci Rogers and Kari Rogers.
This achievement is a true testament to the team’s dedication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and perseverance. Winnsboro ISD is incredibly proud of these students for representing our district with excellence and bringing home a state championship. Their hard work and success reflect the very best of our schools and community.
Congratulations to our VEX Robotics State Champions!
