Winnsboro Memorial Intermediate and Winnsboro Elementary Schools have once again showcased their academic prowess, clinching the first place overall trophy in the Academic University Interscholastic League (UIL) competition for the second year in a row.

The remarkable achievement underscores the dedication and hard work of both the sponsors and students who tirelessly prepared for this rigorous competition. Throughout the year, they committed countless hours to honing their skills and knowledge in various academic disciplines, ranging from mathematics to language arts.

Parents played a crucial role in supporting their children during after-school practices, providing encouragement and ensuring their participation. Their unwavering support has undoubtedly contributed to the success of the Winnsboro schools' UIL teams.

This year, a total of 83 students from grades 2nd to 5th participated in the UIL competitions, representing Winnsboro with enthusiasm and determination. Among these participants, an impressive 44 students clinched victories, showcasing the depth of talent within the schools.

Notably, in the grade-level competitions, Winnsboro's 2nd-grade students secured a commendable 2nd place overall, while the 4th and 5th-grade students dominated their respective categories, clinching 1st place overall.

The collective efforts of the students across all grade levels propelled Winnsboro to secure first place overall, finishing a remarkable 26 points ahead of the second-place contender.

The Winnsboro community celebrates this outstanding achievement, recognizing the hard work and commitment of both students and sponsors.
