Winnsboro High School is celebrating a major accomplishment as a group of dedicated students achieved a 100% pass rate on the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam—a nationally recognized credential that proves they are fully prepared to begin working in real-world healthcare settings straight out of high school.
A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant is trained in both clinical and administrative duties, opening doors for these students to work in a variety of healthcare environments, including doctors’ offices, urgent care centers, specialty clinics, and hospitals. Their training includes taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, performing EKGs and phlebotomy, administering immunizations, and managing patient records.
The CCMA course is a rigorous, fast-paced program that covers college-level material in anatomy, pharmacology, medical law, and more. Despite the intensity of the curriculum, these students successfully balanced their certification studies with their regular classes, sports, and extracurricular activities.
Many of these students plan to pursue careers in nursing, pre-med, and other healthcare fields. With their CCMA certification in hand, they’re entering college with real-world skills, professional confidence, and a strong foundation that will serve them well for years to come.
“I’m incredibly proud of them,” said their instructor. “They’ve worked so hard, and they’ve absolutely earned this success.”
