In 1983, I graduated from East Texas State University with a Bachelor's Degree. I had a double major in English and Physical Education. My first teaching and coaching job was in Celeste ISD, my home town. After 7 years of teaching and coaching, I was named the Celeste Junior High School Principal. All the while, I continued my coaching duties and completed my Master's Degree in Educational Administration, as well as my superintendent's certification. After 12 years at CISD, I became Superintendent of Schools at Campbell ISD. In 1997, I moved to Winnsboro ISD to serve as High School Principal. I remained in that position for 17 years. In July, 2014, I became Superintendent of Schools at Winnsboro ISD and began my 32nd year in the educational profession.
I have been married for 27 years to Kyle Morton, who is the Postmaster in Commerce, Texas. We have 2 daughters. Megan is a teacher and coach at MMS in Winnsboro ISD, and Macy is a CPA for Deloitte in Houston, Texas.
Our family loves the Winnsboro community and schools. I look forward to many more years of service in this outstanding district.
