WHS Wrestling Program Inaugural Year

Winnsboro High School is having success in its inaugural year participating in High School wrestling. This year the team is made up of 15 participants. This season, they have participated in 4 tournaments and placed in the top 10 at each match. The tournaments are comprised of mostly 5A and 6A schools.

Sophomore, Zeb Fulmer has led the team and is currently undefeated with 12 wins and no losses. Fulmer will go on to compete in the Regional tournament.  Junior, Kobe McAdoo will also go to the regional tournament as an alternate.

“I am so proud of our wrestling team and their hard work, Johnson said. They are competing against wrestlers that have been wrestling since they were young and are now competing at the high school level.”

Johnson said he hopes that after this first year the interest will increase and the program will continue to grow.

This year team members are, Lane Lewis, Derrick Coffman, Marquis Ivory, Kyd Cole, Zeb Fulmer, Logan Minick, Kobe McAdoo, Colt Wilkins, Coach Johnson, Toby Watson, Alex Petty, Kaden Finney.
